Andaz Scottsdale Wedding Photographer | Ashly Shae Photography

There is something effortlessly beautiful about a wedding at Andaz Scottsdale. With Camelback Mountain in the distance, desert-inspired architecture, lush grounds, and that unmistakable Scottsdale light, it’s an incredible setting for a wedding that feels both elevated and relaxed.
As an Arizona wedding photographer, Andaz Scottsdale is one of those venues I absolutely love photographing. Every part of the property offers something different—from the warm desert tones and modern architecture to intimate garden spaces and incredible mountain views.
But as beautiful as the setting is, my favorite part of photographing any wedding will always be the people and the moments happening within it.
My approach combines romantic, timeless portraits with candid storytelling so that your wedding gallery doesn’t just show you what your day looked like—it brings you right back to how it felt.

Wedding mornings at Andaz Scottsdale have such a relaxed, intimate feeling.
Getting ready photographs are about so much more than hair and makeup. This part of the day is filled with little moments that can easily be forgotten once everything begins moving quickly.
Your mom helping with your dress. Your best friends laughing together while getting ready. The anticipation before seeing your partner. The quiet moment when everything suddenly feels real.
I photograph these moments naturally while also making time for beautiful wedding details like your invitation suite, rings, shoes, jewelry, florals, perfume, and any sentimental pieces you’ve chosen to include.
The result is a collection of photographs that tells the entire story of your wedding day—not only the big moments.

One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at Andaz is the way the resort blends modern Scottsdale style with the natural beauty of the Arizona desert.
The surrounding mountains, desert landscaping, greenery, and beautiful Arizona light create an incredible backdrop without distracting from what the ceremony is actually about: the two of you.
During the ceremony, my approach becomes much more documentary.
I’m watching for the moments happening beyond the obvious ones—the expression on your partner’s face as you walk down the aisle, your parents watching you exchange vows, your best friend wiping away a tear, the little glances between the two of you when you think nobody is watching.
Those are often the photographs that become the most meaningful years later.

One of my favorite things about being an Andaz Scottsdale wedding photographer is the variety available for wedding portraits.
We can create elegant portraits surrounded by the resort’s architecture, romantic images among the greenery and desert landscaping, and beautiful photographs with Camelback Mountain and the Arizona landscape in the distance.
My portrait approach is a mixture of gentle direction and genuine interaction.
I’ll absolutely tell you where to stand, what to do with your hands, and where the light looks best—you don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose.
But I also don’t want every photograph to feel perfectly posed.
I’ll have you walk together, pull each other close, move, laugh, kiss, and interact naturally so we can create those beautiful in-between photographs that actually feel like the two of you.
The goal is a gallery filled with classic wedding portraits you’ll frame alongside candid photographs that instantly bring you back to that moment.

Once the reception begins, my photography becomes even more candid.
This is when I’m constantly watching the room.
I’m photographing your parents laughing at the speeches, friends reconnecting over dinner, champagne being poured, your grandparents dancing, reactions during your first dance, and all of the wonderfully chaotic moments that happen once everyone reaches the dance floor.
I want you to see moments in your final gallery that you didn’t even know happened.
Alongside those candid photographs, I’ll photograph the reception space and all of the details you spent months planning—from florals and tablescapes to stationery, cake, signage, and décor.
Those details help tell the complete story of the celebration you created.
