Tucked beneath Camelback Mountain and surrounded by lush gardens, Spanish-inspired architecture, and romantic courtyards, Royal Palms Resort and Spa feels like a little piece of the Mediterranean hidden in the Arizona desert.
This luxury wedding editorial was created to showcase just how romantic a Royal Palms wedding can feel. From elevated bridal fashion and intentional details to lush florals and timeless portraiture, every element was designed with a refined, European-inspired aesthetic in mind.
As an Arizona wedding photographer, I’m constantly inspired by wedding days that balance beauty with emotion. I love imagery that feels editorial and elevated while still leaving room for movement, connection, and those beautifully imperfect moments that make photographs feel alive.
Royal Palms is the perfect setting for exactly that.

Royal Palms has an atmosphere unlike so many other wedding venues in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area.
Instead of a traditional desert setting, the property is filled with textured stucco walls, beautiful archways, fountains, palms, intimate pathways, and lush gardens. The historic Spanish Colonial-inspired architecture creates an old-world feeling that photographs beautifully.
For this editorial, we wanted the design to complement that character rather than compete with it.
The result was romantic, sophisticated, and timeless—with just enough modern influence to keep everything feeling fresh.

One of my favorite parts of photographing a beautifully designed wedding is documenting all of the smaller elements that create the overall experience.
Stationery, florals, jewelry, linens, table settings, fashion, and carefully chosen décor may seem like individual details, but together they tell the visual story of a wedding.
For this Royal Palms editorial, I photographed those details with the same approach I bring to a wedding day: clean compositions, true-to-life color, beautiful light, and an editorial eye.
I want details to feel elevated without becoming overly styled or trendy.
The goal is imagery that could live in a magazine today and still feel beautiful twenty years from now.

Royal Palms gives us endless opportunities for bridal portraits.
The warm architecture, greenery, beautiful windows, textured walls, and quiet courtyards allow us to create completely different looks without leaving the property.
For bridal portraits, I love combining traditional portraiture with something a little more editorial.
We’ll create the beautiful, classic photograph your family will adore—but then we’ll play.
Movement in the dress. A dramatic veil. Interesting architecture. A quiet moment beside a window. A slightly unexpected composition.
That combination is what makes a gallery feel timeless without feeling predictable.

As a Royal Palms wedding photographer, what excites me most about this property is the amount of visual variety we can create without pulling a couple away from their wedding for hours.
The architecture gives us clean, sophisticated portraits.
The gardens create something softer and more romantic.
The courtyards and textured walls bring an old-world feeling.
Windows and interiors give us beautiful opportunities for editorial bridal portraits.
And as the light changes throughout the day, the property takes on an entirely different mood.
That means your wedding gallery can have variety while still feeling cohesive.

I’m Ashly, the photographer behind Ashly Shae Photography, photographing weddings throughout Scottsdale, Phoenix, Paradise Valley, and destinations across Arizona.
My approach is rooted in creating photographs that are both beautiful and meaningful.
We’ll create the editorial portraits.
We’ll photograph every gorgeous detail.
We’ll find incredible Arizona light.
But I’ll also be watching for your mom’s expression while you’re getting dressed, the way your partner reaches for your hand, your friends laughing during cocktail hour, and everyone completely losing it on the dance floor.
Because your wedding photographs aren’t simply about documenting what everything looked like.
They’re about preserving what it felt like to be there.
If you’re planning a Royal Palms Resort wedding and looking for photography that feels luxurious, romantic, timeless, and full of genuine emotion, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.
Whether you’re planning an intimate garden ceremony, an elegant black-tie celebration, or a European-inspired Arizona wedding beneath the palms, we’ll create imagery that feels unmistakably yours.
